Mezzo-soprano Elizabeth Lewis is a graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University (QCGU), where she received a Bachelor of Music, majoring in classical voice, and then a Master of Music Studies in 2010.
Elizabeth has performed extensively in Australia including performances with The Bangalow Festival, Opera in the Paddock (Opera Australia/Opera North), Queensland Pops Orchestra and as a member of the Opera Queensland Chorus. Most recently she was a member of the Opera Q Studio (previously Opera Queensland Young Artist
Program). While in the program she was a principal in their world premier work Abandon as part of the Australian Festival of Chamber Music 2013.
In 2009, Elizabeth received the Bel Canto Institute Scholarship, and subsequently travelled to Florence, Italy where she performed at two Bel Canto Institute showcase concerts. Elizabeth has received several other high profile awards and scholarships, most recently placing Runner-Up in the 2012 Herald sun Aria Competition. While studying at
QCGU, she received the Elizabeth Muir Scholarship, Linda Edith Allen Scholarship and the Lisa Gasteen National Opera School Scholarship in both 2011 and 2012. In 2014, Elizabeth will be joining the Victorian Opera Developing Artist Program in Melbourne and commencing her Master of Music in Opera Performance from the University of Melbourne on a full scholarship.
